The Mighty Wallops came together in 2024 over a shared love for early jazz and blues. After woodshedding the songs of Cab Calloway, Louis Armstrong, Bessie Smith, and Lead Belly, they started reinventing contemporary pop hits in 1920s style (a la Postmodern Jukebox) and composing their own quirky originals.
The Mighty Wallops are a rare kind of band that can be legitimately described as both totally traditional and totally unconventional.
